Come pitch in to protect Lenoir Preserve from the spread of invasive plants! We will learn simple plant identification and work to cut and pull invasives to give native plants a fighting chance! Bring gloves if you have them; all tools will be provided. Signed waiver required. Ages 12+. Outdoor event.
The historical significance of the sculptures and monuments along the Trail of Honor will be shared in a guided walk by Mark Tolf, Curator of the Westchester County Veterans Museum. Sketching in nature is a great practice for building nature observation skills and can be a wonderful mindfulness practice. In this relaxed and guided program we will capture a quick representation of natural objects, landscape features, and more. Bring a sketchbook and pencil, or borrow one of ours. No previous art training is necessary.
